OHL Cup Day 2 Recap
Day 2 of the 2016 OHL Cup was headlined by a quartet of 2-0 clubs including Wild Card entries the Quinte Red Devils and the Don Mills Flyers, along with the Hamilton Jr. Bulldogs, and the Mississauga Rebels.
Hunter Holmes of the Niagara North Stars leads the tournament scoring race with four goals and two assists for six points in two games.

Game 1 – Don Mills Flyers 6, London Jr. Knights 2: Sam Rhodes had a goal and an assist as the Don Mills Flyers swung the momentum with a pair of quick second period markers in a 6-2 win over London. Game Summary
Game 2 – Niagara North Stars 5, Thunder Bay Kings 3: Hunter Holmes’ hat-trick led the Niagara North Stars to a third period comeback win as they provided four unanswered to defeat the Thunder Bay Kings. Game Summary
Game 3 – Mississauga Senators 4, Kingston Jr. Frontenacs 3: The Mississauga Senators skated to a 4-3 win over the Greater Kingston Jr. Frontenacs to open their OHL Cup schedule. Kevin Paschalis led the way with a goal and two assists. Game Summary
Game 4 – Team NOHA 4, TPH Hockey 1: Team NOHA came together for a 4-1 win over TPH Hockey in their first game of the 2016 OHL Cup. Chad Denault provided two goals in the victory. Game Summary
Game 5 – Quinte Red Devils 2, Toronto Marlboros 1: The Quinte Red Devils had an outstanding performance from goaltender Pierce Nelson to upset the reigning OHL Cup champion Toronto Marlboros in a 2-1 win. Game Summary
Game 6 – Hamilton Jr. Bulldogs 3, Waterloo Wolves 0: The Hamilton Jr. Bulldogs employed a shutdown style as goaltender Matthew Lukic recorded the shutout in a 3-0 win over the Waterloo Wolves. Game Summary
Game 7 – Mississauga Rebels 7, Elite Hockey Group 3: Defencemen Anthony Aguanno and Peter Stratis got in on the attack as the Mississauga Rebels rode to a 7-3 win over Elite Hockey Group. Game Summary
Game 8 – York Simcoe Express 4 Toronto Red Wings 2: Ian Vucko and Cameron Hillis each scored as the York Simcoe Express took care of business against the Toronto Red Wings with a 4-2 win. Game Summary
Game 9 – London Jr. Knights 2, Barrie Jr. Colts 2: Overtime solved nothing as Joel Mazzilli and the London Jr. Knights fought to a 2-2 tie with the Barrie Jr. Colts in Round Robin play. Game Summary
Game 10 – Toronto Jr. Canadiens 7, Niagara North Stars 3: Matthew Falls scored a pair of goals as the Toronto Jr. Canadiens came back strong from a Tuesday night loss to beat the Niagara North Stars 7-3. Game Summary
Game 11 – Southern Tier Admirals 6, TPH Hockey 2: Dante Massi and Quinton Fox each scored twice as the Southern Tier Admirals got in the win column at the 2016 OHL Cup, defeating TPH Hockey 6-2 on Wednesday. Game Summary
Game 12 – Windsor Jr. Spitfires 4, Mississauga Senators: Owen Lalonde picked up a goal and an assist to lead the Windsor Jr. Spitfires to their first OHL Cup win since 2007. Game Summary
Game 13 – Thunder Bay Kings 2, Waterloo Wolves 1: The Thunder Bay Kings pulled out an OT victory, defeating the ALLIANCE Champion Waterloo Wolves 2-1. Game Summary
Game 14 – Don Mills Flyers 6, Elite Hockey Group 3: Jack McBain collected three assists as the Don Mills Flyers scored six goals in a second straight game to beat Elite Hockey Group 6-3. Game Summary
Game 15 – Quinte Red Devils 4, Team NOHA 2: Matt Sherwin scored twice to help the Wild Card entry Quinte Red Devils improve to 2-0 with a win over Team NOHA. Game Summary
Game 16 – Kingston Jr. Frontenacs 2, York Simcoe Express 2: The York Simcoe Express battled back from down 2-0 to tie the Frontenacs in the dying seconds of the third period and earn a point. Game Summary
