Hall backstops Team NOHA to first win
In a close Lindros Division matchup, Team NOHA beat the Mississauga Rebels 2-1 to pick up their first win of the 2023 OHL Cup.
Despite a late goal on a breakaway from the Rebels’ Ethan Czata (2), a goal from team NOHA’s Deven Jones McDonald (1) stood as the game winner. Brant Romaniuk (1) opened the scoring on the power play in the third period.
Backstopping NOHA to their first win of the showcase, goaltender Alex Hall (23 SV) talked about the win saying, “It’s great for our team, we played hard, and we’ll be excited to carry this momentum into our game tomorrow.”
“A lot of people may underestimate us sometimes, so it’s great for our team to come together and show everyone what we can do,” said Hall, talking about what it’s like to bring players from different teams together and perform at such a big event.
Team NOHA will look to make it back-to-back wins tomorrow at 8:00am when the take on the Don Mills Flyers. The 1-2 Mississauga Rebels will faceoff against the OMHA champion Peterborough Petes tomorrow afternoon at 1:45 pm.
