Anaheim Ducks prospect Mason McTavish will be out of the lineup for the better part of February, off representing Canada at the 2022 Olympics in Beijing, China. Kerins on top of scoring race
The Soo Greyhounds defeated Barrie in a 4-3 overtime win on Saturday as Rory Kerins led his team to victory, scoring his second of the night 46 seconds into the extra frame. In addition to his two goals, Kerins also had an assist as he climbed into the OHL scoring lead with 67 points through 39 games this season. It wasn’t all good news for the Hounds though, as they lost St. Louis Blues prospect Tanner Dickinson midway through the third period. Dickinson will be out for an extended period after breaking his right femur, an injury that could potentially sideline him for the remainder of the season. The Greyhounds currently sit at the top of the Western Conference with a record of 23-12-3-1,

Generals, Petes split weekend set
Arguably the League’s biggest rivalry saw a split decision over the weekend as the Peterborough Petes took two points in Oshawa on Saturday as Kaspars Ziemins recorded his first career multi-goal effort while Emmett Sproule had three assists in a 5-2 decision. The Generals struck back on Sunday in Peterborough as Boston Bruins prospect Brett Harrison scored the game winner 2:36 into the third period, giving Oshawa a 4-3 edge. The Generals have won five of the seven matchups between the two clubs this season, and sit 11 points ahead of Peterborough in the Eastern Conference.
