Firebirds continue on their record-setting season
The Firebirds capped a record-setting season with 42 wins and 89 points as Brennan Othmann had a fantastic finish, scoring four goals in the final regular season game to reach 50. Othmann set the club’s new single season scoring record while netminder Luke Cavallin led the OHL in wins with a club record of 36 games.

Johnston wins Eddie Powers Memorial Trophy
Dallas Stars prospect Wyatt Johnston led the OHL with 124 points, becoming the first Windsor Spitfires player to earn the Eddie Powers Memorial Trophy since Taylor Hall in 2009-10. Johnston led all players with 1.82 points-per-game, finishing with a total of 42 multi-point performances. Johnston’s 124 points are the most by an OHL scoring leader since Erie’s Alex DeBrincat in 2016-17.

Barlow ties rookie record
It was a great regular-season finish for rookie Colby Barlow who scored his 30th goal of the season in overtime on Saturday as the Attack defeated Kitchener. The goal also tied him with Joey Hishon’s 16-year-old rookie record of 47 points on the season. It comes after fellow rookie Cedrick Guindon also scored his 30th goal of the season on Wednesday.

Bulldogs stay strong heading into playoffs
George Diaco scored four times as the Hamilton Bulldogs defeated the Erie Otters 10-2 on Sunday. Knocking the Otters out of playoff contention, Logan Morrison became the League’s sixth 100-point scorer with four points in the win. Overage blueliner Nathan Staios led OHL defencemen in scoring with 66 points (15-51–66). Marco Costantini set new Bulldogs records with a league-best 2.32 goals-against average and .917 save percentage along with six shutouts. The Bulldogs enter the playoffs with wins in 10 straight games – leading the League with 51 this season.

Robertson nets 40th as Petes win fourth in a row
The Peterborough Petes clinched their fourth straight win as they closed out the regular season win a 6-3 win over the Kingston Frontenacs on Sunday. Tucker Robertson scored his 40th and 41st goals of the season, potting his league-leading eighth shorthanded. Overage forward Emmett Sproule had two goals and two assists in his final regular season contest, reaching 30 goals on the season.

Spirit finish with a win
The Saginaw Spirit went out with a win on Saturday as overage vets Nick Wong and Dalton Duhart both scored twice. Pavel Mintyukov also finished the night with four assists, becoming the first defenceman in franchise history to lead the team in scoring. Mitchell Smith had a goal and three helpers. Andrew Oke made 28 saves for the win as the Spirit wrap things up with a 24-43-1-0 record.

Mississauga reaches new franchise record
James Hardie’s 41st of the season was the OT winner on Friday as the Steelheads earned their 82nd point, a new franchise record. Chicago Blackhawks prospect Ethan Del Mastro had three assists, getting in on the game winner as the Steelheads end their regular season with a record of 37-23-2-6 for fourth in the Eastern Conference. Goaltenders Joe Ranger (2.54) and Roman Basran (2.60) posted new lows for goals-against average in a single season by a Steelheads goaltender.

Evangelista wins goal-scoring race
London Knights captain Luke Evangelista finished up with 55 goals in 62 games. The 55 goals are tied for the fifth-highest total in Knights history, equalling Jason Allison’s mark from the 1993-94 season. Evangelista racked up 111 points and a league-leading 340 shots on goal along with three hat tricks.

Coe passes 100-point milestone
Brandon Coe surpassed the 100-point milestone, becoming the third player in franchise history to do so as the Troops defeated the Generals on Thursday. He follows Justin Brazeau (2018-19) and Wojtek Wolski (2005-06) in accomplishing the feat. Coe had two assists as the Battalion close out the regular season with a 43-18-3-4 record, their best season since relocating to North Bay in 2013-14.
