Tuesday Highlights: Knights edge Rangers
Tuesday January 19, 2016
The fourth of six meetings between the London Knights and Kitchener Rangers this season went to the visitors on Tuesday as the Knights knotted the season series at two wins apiece in a 5-4 decision.
The Rangers made a comeback push in the third period, but late goals from Dylan Di Perna and Ryan MacInnis weren’t enough as Tyler Parsons made 36 saves to secure London’s third straight win.
Overage winger Aaron Berisha led the attack for London with two goals on the night while Arizona Coyotes prospect Christian Dvorak claimed his 200th career OHL point with a pair of assists and Mitchell Marner notched career point 250 with a helper of his own. Top NHL Draft prospect Matthew Tkachuk also collected two helpers in the victory while Victor Mete, J.J. Piccinich and Daniel Bernhardt, who notched his first OHL goal, also scored.
MacInnis extended his current point streak to 18 games, finishing the night with a goal and two assists while Jeremy Bracco had three assists as the Rangers saw their four game winning streak come to an end.
The Knights now lead Kitchener by three points in the Midwest Division and continue to trail first place Erie by a six point margin.
