OHL Playoffs Day 12
The Mississauga St. Michael’s Majors needed a win at home to force a game seven against the Barrie Colts on Monday night. After a scoreless first, Jamie Wise, opened the scoring with a shorthanded goal. Rookie Aaron Ekblad would even things up just over a minute later. Mika Partanen would give the Majors the lead once again on a great individual effort. However, Colin Behenna tied things up with a power play marker at 19:00 of the second period. The teams would exchange chances in the third before heading to overtime. There was no holding back in overtime as the game really opened up. Steven Beyers and Anthony Camara broke in on a two-on-one. Beyers sent a perfect pass to Camara who made no mistake sending it past an outstretched Maxwell to win the game and the series. The Belleville Bulls were in the same situation as the Majors. Looking for a win at home to force game seven. Three of the games in the series were decided by overtime and game six was going to be just as close. The game was scoreless after one. Garrett Hooey opened the scoring for the Bulls three minutes into the second period with his first of the playoffs. After Malcolm Subban made a huge save on a breakaway the puck would end up on Tyler Toffoli’s stick and he would square the score with under two minutes to play in the second. Toffoli would bang in a loose puck early in the third period to put the 67’s up for good. The play was reviewed to see if the puck had crossed the line. Peter Mrazek shut the door the rest of the way. Watch the highlights
