OHL News – Radio Edition with host Terry Doyle and presented by Warrior features Tampa Bay Lightning prospect Anthony DeAngelo of the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds.
DeAngelo was named OHL Defenceman of the Month for the second straight time and finished the 2014-15 regular season. He led all OHL defencemen in scoring this season with 25 goals, 64 assists and 89 points in 55 games between Sarnia and Sault Ste. Marie, with 30 of his 89 points coming on the man advantage. The Lightning’s first round (19th overall) pick in the 2014 NHL Draft also represented the United States in the 2015 World Junior Championship in Toronto and Montreal. DeAngelo’s 89 points are the most by an OHL blueliner since Windsor Spitfires rearguard Ryan Ellis put up 101 (24-77–101) during the 2010-11 season.
As a result of his outstanding season, DeAngelo has been named one of six OHL Defenceman of the Year finalists.
