OHL Cup Results – Day 5

Gold Medal Game
Toronto Marlboros 5, London Jr. Knights 0
John Tavares had two goals and an assist to help the Toronto Marlboros to a 5-0 win over the London Jr. Knights in the championship game of the OHL Cup Showcase Tournament on Sunday.
Sam Gagner, who won the Tim Adams Award as the most valuable player of the tournament, had a goal and two assists in the win.
Justin Vaive and Eric Rubino also scored for the Marlies, who were undefeated in five tournament games.
Kevin Kapalka recorded the shutout for the Marlies.

Markham Islanders win Bronze Medal at the OHL Cup
Matt D’Hollander scored three goals, including the winning goal with 50 seconds left in the third period to lift the Markham Islanders to a 6-5 win over the Clarington Toros in the Bronze Medal Game at the OHL Cup Showcase Tournament on Sunday.
Chris Terry, Mike Colwill and Vincent Piccone also scored and James McIntosh added three assists for Markham.
Allen Dillon, with two goals, Greg Nemisz, Robert Kay and Luke Pither scored for Clarington.
Toronto Marlboros 5, Markham Islanders 3
Justin Vaive scored two goals and John Tavares scored the winner to help the Toronto Marlboros (4-0-0) to a 5-3 win over the Markham Islanders (3-1-0) in the first of two semi-finals in the OHL Cup Showcase Tournament on Sunday.
Eric Rubino and Sam Gagner also scored in the win and Justin Troiani added three assists.
Matt D’Hollander, Matt Smyth and James Mcintosh scored for Markham.
London Jr. Knights 7, Clarington Toros 1
Tommy Johncox and Andrew Wilson each scored two goals to pace the London Jr. Knights to a 7-1 win over the Clarington Toros in the second semi-final.
Chris McMurray, Jordan Skellett and Leigh Salters also scored in the win.
Lukas Pither scored his tournament-leading ninth goal for Clarington.
