Selected in the 1st round, 17th overall by Windsor in the 2007 OHL Priority Selection, Cam Fowler recorded 55 points in 55 games in his first OHL campaign finishing seventh in OHL scoring amongst defencemen.  He added another 14 points in 19 playoff games to help the Spitfires win their second straight Robertson Cup before recording six points in four games to lead all defencemen in scoring at the 2010 MasterCard Memorial Cup where he was named a tournament all-star.  Fowler was also named the OHL’s Defenceman of the Month for October.   

Fowler competed in the Home Hardware CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game in Windsor as well as the 2010 OHL All-Star Classic in Kingston.  This season he won gold with Team USA at the 2010 World Junior Championships and is just the 21st player in history to win both a gold medal and a Memorial Cup title in the same season. 

Internationally he has also won gold with USA at the 2009 World Under-18 Championships where he was named Best Defenceman of the tournament scoring eight points in seven games.  Fowler also won silver with Team USA at the 2008 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge.

“He’s your prototypical offensive-defenseman," Director of NHL Central Scouting E.J McGuire told nhl.com.  "He’s your (quarterback) on your (power-play), he’s your great skating offensive-defenseman and he controls the puck with his skills.  If you’re looking for a comparison, think of Kaberle with the Maple Leafs.  But in sticking with his country, maybe even a future Leetch or Housley.”
