Kings prospect Erik Cernak commits to Otters

Erie, PA – Erie Otters General Manager Dave Brown announced today that first round CHL Import Draft selection Erik Cernak has committed to the Erie Otters and agreed to an OHL standard player agreement.
Cernak, a 6’-3”, 203-pound defenseman, was drafted by the Los Angeles Kings 43rdoverall in the second round of the 2015 NHL Draft. The Kosice, Slovakia native was assigned to the Erie Otters on Tuesday, October 28th by Los Angeles and will make his OHL debut in Owen Sound Wednesday night.
Internationally Cernak has competed with Slovakia’s national junior team at the past two IIHF World Junior Championships, winning a bronze medal in 2015. He also played with Slovakia’s Under-18 team at the 2013 and 2014 IIHF World Junior Championships, serving as the team’s captain in 2014.
