Otters acquire Liam Beamish from Sting
The Erie Otters have acquired forward Liam Beamish from the Sarnia Sting in exchange for a 2027 fifth-round pick and a 2028 third-round pick in the OHL Priority Selection.
Beamish, a Beamsville, Ontario native, appeared in 66 games with the Sting during the 2025-26 season, recording 11 goals and 22 assists for 33 points in his second OHL campaign.
Originally selected by Sarnia in the eighth round (151st overall) of the 2023 OHL Priority Selection, Beamish developed through the GOJHL with the Fort Erie Meteors, where he was named Rookie of the Year for the Golden Horseshoe Conference, before making the jump to major junior. He also spent time in the BCHL with the Salmon Arm Silverbacks prior to fully joining the Sting’s roster.
For Sarnia, the deal brings back future draft capital as the club continues to manage its assets ahead of the 2026 OHL Priority Selection and beyond. For Erie, the move adds another forward to their roster as the team continues to reshape its lineup during the offseason trade window.
The OHL trade window opened on June 2 and remains open until June 11 at 3:00 p.m. ahead of the 2026 OHL Priority Selection presented by Real Canadian Superstore, which takes place June 12-13 at Slush Puppie Place in Kingston.
