DIRECTOR OF CENTRAL SCOUTING
The Ontario Hockey League has an immediate opening for the position of OHL Director of Central Scouting. The successful candidate should possess extensive hockey knowledge; excellent leadership qualities; extensive player evaluation experience; knowledge of the hockey milieu in Ontario and the United States; strong organizational, communication, presentation and computer skills.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Managing and directing the League’s Central Scouting Department, including all Central Scouting staff.
- Identifying and evaluating potential prospective players for the Ontario Hockey League.
- Creating through evaluation an OHL Priority Selection Player Eligibility List.
- Managing the “OHL Central Scouting Information System” including Minor Midget team rosters and tournament schedules.
- Attending all major tournaments and scouting events during the “League’s Scouting and Evaluation Period”.
- Personal contact with prospective OHL players and their families through liaison with the OHL’s Director of Recruitment and Education.
- Managing elements relative to the annual OHL Cup Showcase Tournament.
- Creating an annual business plan / budget for the Central Scouting Department.
