A career-high five goal night from Arizona Coyotes prospect Christian Dvorak tied a London Knights franchise record and led them to a 9-2 win over the Guelph Storm on Friday.
In addition to Dvorak’s six points, the 12-2-1-1 Knights had two goals and four assists from Matthew Tkachuk along with five helpers from Toronto Maple Leafs prospect Mitch Marner in the decisive victory.
The London win came in one of eight games around the league on Friday.
LONDON 9 GUELPH 2 – Christian Dvorak’s career-high five goals and an assist led the Knights to a 9-2 win in Guelph on Friday. London kept pace in the Midwest Division, improving to 12-2-1-1 as draft eligible winger Matthew Tkachuk had two goals and four assists while Toronto Maple Leafs prospect Mitch Marner registered five assists. The Knights went 6-for-10 on the powerplay, improving their first ranked man advantage to 29.9%. Guelph rookie Nate Schnarr registered an assist in his OHL debut.

ERIE 7 PETERBOROUGH 2 – Alex DeBrincat (3-2–5) and Dylan Strome (2-3–5) had five points each as the Erie Otters cruised to a 7-2 win over Peterborough on home ice. The Otters jumped out to a 4-0 lead after one period before the Petes came out strong in the second, forcing Devin Williams into 15 of his 32 saves on the night. Sophomore Taylor Raddysh had a goal and three assists while Jake Marchment had a goal and an assist in the victory. The Otters are now 13-1-1-0 on the season.

FLINT 3 SARNIA 2 OT – Ryan Moore scored 1:11 into overtime as the Flint Firebirds came back on the Sarnia Sting to take a 3-2 road win. Will Bitten got Flint on the board early with a first period penalty shot marker while Francesco Vilardi tied the score at two with 5:45 left in the third frame. Troy Lajeunesse and Nikita Korostelev had goals for the Sting who had their hands full with Alex Nedeljkovic in the Flint crease. The Carolina Hurricanes prospect earned first star honours with 40 saves on the night.

SAULT STE. MARIE 4 MISSISSAUGA 3 – The Soo Greyhounds got back on track Friday night as Bobby MacIntyre earned first star honours against his old club with a goal and an assist in a 4-3 win over Mississauga. New Jersey Devils prospects Colton White (0-2–2) and Blake Speers (1-1—2) factored into the victory while rookie Boris Katchouk also had a goal and an assist on the night. Joseph Raaymakers made 39 saves in goal for the win. Daniel Muzito-Bagenda scored twice for the Steelheads in the loss.

KINGSTON 4 NORTH BAY 1 – Lawson Crouse had a goal and an assist as the Kingston Frontenacs prevailed in camouflage over the North Bay Battalion 4-1. The Frontenacs outshot their opponent 36-23 as Juho Lammikko, Conor McGlynn and Cody Caron also had goals. Defenceman Stephen Desrocher earned his first point with the Frontenacs with an assist in the victory. Brett McKenzie scored the lone goal for North Bay. Kingston holds a one point lead over the Ottawa 67’s atop the East Division.

OSHAWA 6 HAMILTON 3 – Michael Dal Colle enjoyed his first multi-goal night of the season, scoring twice as the Oshawa Generals doubled up the Hamilton Bulldogs 6-3. Stephen Harper’s hat-trick wasn’t enough as the Bulldogs had a rough first period, falling behind 3-0 before getting themselves back to within one. Oshawa rookie Sullivan Sparkes scored his first career OHL goal in the win while Joe Manchurek and Owen McDade each had two assists. Jeremy Brodeur made 26 saves as the Gennies improved to 9-7-2-0.

KITCHENER 3 OTTAWA 1 – St. Louis Blues prospect Luke Opilka made 21 saves to earn first star honours as the Kitchener Rangers won their 11th straight game on Friday. The blueshirts defeated the Ottawa 67’s 3-1 as Mike Davies, Ryan MacInnis and Mason Kohn found the back of the net. Overaged defenceman Brian Brosnan was plus-2 in the victory, improving upon his league-leading plus-23 rating on the season. The Rangers are now 13-0-3-0 on the season and continue their weekend road trip in Kingston on Saturday.

BARRIE 4 SUDBURY 2 – The Sudbury Wolves put up a good fight, but the Barrie Colts prevailed 4-2 on Friday night, outshooting Sudbury 49-38. Colts goaltender Mackenzie Blackwood made 36 saves while goals from Andrew Mangiapane, Roy Radke, Julius Nattinen and Justin Scott were enough to secure the victory. Kevin Labanc had a pair of assists for the Colts, bringing his point total to 16 over his past seven games. Wolves goaltender Zack Bowman made 45 saves on a busy night that saw its share of penalties. The Colts improve to 10-6-0-0 and hold on a two point lead atop the Central Division.
