Tuesday Highlights: Sting vets swarm Rangers

Adam Ruzicka (4, 5), Anthony Salinitri (11) and Sean Josling all had three points as the Sarnia Sting pumped in five goals during the second period, taking a 7-4 road win over the Kitchener Rangers. Franco Sproviero (7, 8) scored twice while Ruzicka picked up two goals and an assist, Salinitri had a goal and two helpers and Josling finished with three assists. With the game 2-2 midway through regulation, Sarnia exploded for three goals in just over two minutes to make the score 5-2, a big lead they’d never relinquish. Brayden Guy (7) and Hugo Leufvenius (13) also scored while goaltender Aidan Hughes made 32 saves. The Sting have responded to a seven-game slide with a pair of back-to-back seven-goal victories. Rickard Hugg (12), Jonathan Yantsis (19), Nick McHugh (3) and Eric Guest (2) were Kitchener scorers as the Rangers fell to .500 at 11-11-2-0. Sarnia improves to 9-10-2-2 on the campaign.
