Tuesday Highlights: Colts end slide, Sting take shootout
SARNIA 4, KITCHENER 3 – SO
– The Rangers rallied from a 3-1 deficit with two goals in the final six minutes of regulation to force OT and a shootout, where Toronto Maple Leafs prospect Ty Voit scored the deciding goal to give Sarnia its first win at The Aud since November 2018.
– Austin Harper scored his first career OHL goal for the Sting while Ty Moffatt and Owen MacDonald made their OHL debuts.
– Nolan Burke scored his club-leading 24th goal of the season while Max Namestnikov also tallied.
– Reid Valade, Simon Motew and Mitchell Martin scored Kitchener goals while Joseph Serpa gathered three assists.
– San Jose Sharks prospect Ben Gaudreau stopped 48 of 51 to earn first star honours.
– Kitchener’s Pavel Cajan stopped 24 of 27 in the shootout loss.
– The win is Sarnia’s first of the season against Kitchener as the Sting improve to 17-18-3-1 for eighth in the Western Conference.
– Kitchener remains two points up on Sarnia in the Western Conference with an 18-19-2-2 record.
– The two teams meet again on Friday in Sarnia.

BARRIE 5, OWEN SOUND 2
– Two teams on recent losing skids met in Owen Sound, with the Barrie Colts shaking their seven-game slide behind a pair of goals from Beau Jelsma.
– LA Kings prospect Brandt Clarke had a goal and an assist as the Colts opened the scoring just 20 seconds in, striking five times on 18 shots.
– Nathan Allensen had three assists for Barrie, giving him 80 in his OHL career.
– Ethan Burroughs and Deni Goure scored for the Attack as they outshot Barrie 26-18.
– Mack Guzda made 24 saves for the win, the 75th of his OHL career.
– Barrie returns to the win column, improving to 21-15-4-0 for sixth in the Eastern Conference.
– Owen Sound drops a fifth straight decision, falling to 19-20-2-2 for sixth in the Western Conference.
– Barrie has won three of the five meetings between the two clubs this season.
