Thursday Highlights: IceDogs strike for seven in big home win
Saginaw Spirit 2 at Niagara IceDogs 7
- The IceDogs scored four unanswered to take a hefty 4-0 lead over the Spirit, a lead they were able to hold onto until the final buzzer.
- IceDogs rookie Braidy Wassilyn was on fire, getting in on five of seven Niagara goals, securing a goal and four assists in the win.
- Seattle Kraken prospect Andrei Loshko also had a big four-point night, netting a hat-trick for the IceDogs as well as an assist.
- Ethan Czata, Mike Levin and Mathieu Paris each had two assists.
- Kristian Epperson extended his hot-streak, scoring in the second period to get the Spirit on the board.
- Hayden Barch made his OHL debut for Saginaw while Kaeden Johnston, Ethan Weir and Xander Velliaris made their Spirit debuts.
- Owen Flores stopped 26-of-28 shots in the win.

Barrie Colts 2 at Peterborough Petes 5
- The Petes came out swinging, scoring four unanswered to take the lead. A lead which they held onto until the very end, taking down the fifth-ranked Barrie Colts.
- Michael Derbridge and Dalyn Wakely scored in the second period to get the Colts back in it, but these proved to be Barrie’s only goals of the night.
- Owen Van Steensel picked up an assist for his first point as a Colt.
- Nico Addy and Liam Ladds both scored a goal and an assist in the big win.
- Brady Stonehouse made his Petes debut.
- Zach Bowen stopped all six shots he faced in the first period before giving way to Easton Rye, who turned aside 23-of-25 in the win.
- Barrie’s Sam Hillebrandt stopped 32-of-37 in his first start since the World Juniors where he won gold with the United States.

Kingston Frontenacs 4 at North Bay Battalion 1
- Matthew Soto and Riley Clark both scored for the Frontenacs early, proving to be the difference makers in a 4-1 Fronts win.
- Briir Long got the Battalion on the board in the first period, this turned out as the Troops’ lone goal.
- Kingston’s Cedrick Guindon scored his 100th career OHL goal, his 22nd of the season.
- Joey Willis, Ethan Hay and Will Bishop made their Kingston debuts.
- New addition Jonathan Kapageridis made his OHL debut for North Bay.
- Parker Vaughan and Zach Wigle made their Battalion debuts.
- Kingston rookie Gavin Betts made 27 saves on 28 shots in the win, earning third star honours.
