1ST STAR: HUNTER JONES (PETERBOROUGH PETES):
Opening Night in Peterborough was something special for Hunter Jones, who locked down his first career OHL shutout with 38 saves on the eve of his 18th birthday. Jones backstopped the Peterborough Petes to a win in their home opener, making several key saves along the way including a breakaway denial of Frontenacs back-to-back 40-goal scorer Jason Robertson. With the post-Dylan Wells era underway in Peterborough, Jones’ performance on Thursday undoubtedly has fans wanting to see more.

2ND STAR: MATEJ PEKAR (BARRIE COLTS):
Buffalo Sabres prospect Matej Pekar picked up where Andrei Svechnikov left off, scoring twice while adding an assist in a 9-2 home opening win over the Owen Sound Attack. A former USHL Rookie of the Year like Svechnikov before him, Pekar made an instant OHL impact with his first goal in the league coming with 58 seconds left in the opening period of the lopsided victory. The Czech talent also registered four shots on goal in the win.

3RD STAR: NICK ISAACSON (PETERBOROUGH PETES):
Big power winger Nick Isaacson is looking for a bounce-back season after missing half of 2017-18 to injury. The Peterborough Petes forward got started on the right foot Thursday with a pair of third period markers in a 4-0 victory over Kingston. He teamed up with linemate Chris Paquette to put the Petes ahead 3-0 beyond the midway mark of the third before adding his second of the night with 22 seconds left in regulation. Isaacson’s two goals on Thursday are one shy of his total from last season.
