Steelheads add overage forward Marc Boudreau
The Mississauga Steelheads announced the acquisition of overage forward Marc Boudreau from the Sudbury Wolves on Wednesday, sending a 15th round pick back in exchange.
A 6-foot-2, 190Ib. left-winger from Toronto, Boudreau will be back in blue and white, colours he once wore as a member of the Toronto Marlboros AAA program before the Soo Greyhounds selected him in the third round of the 2019 OHL Priority Selection. Boudreau has played three OHL seasons, registering 72 points (27-45–72) over 197 regular season contests.
Part of an overage logjam in Sudbury, Boudreau moves closer to home to join the Steelheads. He recorded 28 points (13-15–28) over 67 games with the Wolves last season. Boudreau scored in his Steelheads preseason debut on Thursday against the Kitchener Rangers.
Boudreau joins a group of overage candidates in Mississauga that also includes defenceman Chas Sharpe and other forwards in Ryan Del Monte and Florida Panthers prospect Kai Schwindt.
