Spitfires acquire Connor Toms
The Windsor Spitfires added to their blueline on Monday, acquiring 19-year-old defenceman Connor Toms from the Soo Greyhounds in exchange for a 12th round pick in 2025.
Toms had recorded three assists through his first 12 games of the 2023-24 season, giving him 28 points (6-22–28) over 112 regular season games in Sault Ste. Marie. The 5-foot-11, 174Ib. left-shot defender is the son of former Greyhounds Memorial Cup champion Jeff Toms, who played in the OHL from 1991-94 before a 236-game NHL career with several pro seasons in Europe.
The Hounds originally took Toms in the third round of the 2020 OHL Priority Selection. He’ll wear #52 with the Spitfires, who play host to the Kitchener Rangers on Thursday.
