OHL mourns the loss of Paul Rushforth

The Ontario Hockey League (OHL) is mourning the loss of former North Bay Centennials and Belleville Bulls forward Paul Rushforth, who died Friday at the age of 52.

Rushforth skated three seasons in the OHL between 1991 and 1994, beginning his major junior career in North Bay before finishing with the Bulls in Belleville. He recorded 136 points (61-75—136) over 185 regular season games, highlighted by a 28-goal, 35-assist, 63-point campaign with the Bulls in his final season. He went on to enjoy a nine-year professional career.

Following his playing days, Rushforth built a highly successful career in Ottawa as a real estate broker, becoming one of the region’s most recognizable names in the industry. He was also a familiar voice to listeners across the capital as co-host of Newstalk 580 CFRA’s Open House.

The OHL extends its deepest condolences to the Rushforth family and to all who knew Paul.
