The Ontario Hockey League joined the greater hockey community in sadness today following the passing of well known official Mick McGeough.

Following retirement in 2008 McGeough stayed involved in the game as an Officiating Manager in the NHL. Within his role he worked closely with CHL hockey operations staff as the designated assignor of officials on behalf of the NHL at various Memorial Cup events including 2018 in his hometown of Regina.
In 2012, McGeough was inducted into the Sports Officials Canada Hall of Fame and in 2013 he was inducted into the Saskatchewan Hockey Hall of Fame.
The OHL extends its deepest sympathies to the entire McGeough family, his friends, and the officiating fraternity that knew him best.
