OHL hockey welcomed back to Brampton

BRAMPTON, ON – The City of Brampton is proud to welcome the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) Steelheads franchise to the city and unveil the new team logo.
Hockey is Canada’s sport and welcoming the Steelheads to Brampton is a significant moment for Brampton, the larger community in Peel Region and beyond. The Steelheads will play out of the CAA Centre and the community is excited to have an OHL team back on the ice in Brampton.
The Brampton Steelheads will host their home opener on Friday, September 27 at the CAA Centre and fans are encouraged to come out and experience an incredible game of hockey and cheer the team on.
Hockey in Brampton
Brampton is home to more than 20 community hockey leagues operating across 19 indoor ice pads. The City has 9 outdoor rinks offering free ice time and dedicated hockey shinny times during the winter months along with numerous recreation skate programs. This provides residents with a variety of opportunities to play and grow in the sport.
Brampton is also home to one of the largest charity hockey games in Canada, Hockey Night in Brampton, which welcomes NHL all-stars and hockey legends on the ice to support Osler Health System and other worthy causes.
