Nolan Newton commits to Colts

The Barrie Colts are proud to announce that Nolan Newton has committed to the Colts and has signed an OHL Scholarship and Development Agreement.

Newton was selected by the Colts in the fifth round, 93rd overall in the 2022 OHL Priority Selection.

The 5-foot-10, 173lb. right-shot winger from Sudbury, Ont., has been playing for the Sudbury Cubs (NOJHL) this season where he has recorded 39 points (17-19-39) in only 17 games. Newton leads all 2006-born skaters in the league and is the Cub’s top point producer.

“Nolan has had an impressive start to the year for the Cubs in Sudbury this season. Our coaching staff felt Nolan had a good training camp this year and left us impressed. We feel that he’s ready to take the next step and join us to help continue his development”, commented Colts Head Coach and General Manager, Marty Williamson.

Nolan is expected to suit up for the Colts this coming week and will be wearing #16.
