NIAGARA, ON – The Niagara IceDogs have officially signed defenceman Joey Wassilyn to an OHL Scholarship and Development Agreement.
“Niagara welcomes Joey Wassilyn to the organization. Joey will provide depth in our defence position,” said General Manager, Wes Consorti.
Joey was originally drafted by the Guelph Storm, as a 15th Round Pick in the 2022 draft, and was acquired by the IceDogs on September 17th. The older brother of IceDogs first round 2024 OHL Priority Selection choice Braidy Wassilyn spent the 2023-24 season with the OJHL’s North York Rangers, recording five points (3-2–5) over 49 games, collecting 111 penalty minutes in the process.
Wassilyn will wear #79 for the IceDogs.
