IceDogs add Federkow, Levin in trade with Knights
The Niagara IceDogs made a pair of additions on Tuesday, acquiring defenceman Connor Federkow and forward Mike Levin from the London Knights in exchange for a pair of draft picks. The Knights received Sarnia’s third round pick in 2025 and Owen Sound’s fifth round pick in 2025 in the exchange.
A 2003-born overage candidate from St. Catharines, Federkow will have the opportunity to play close to home this year after spending the past two seasons in London. The 5-foot-10, 188Ib. defender spent time playing the wing for the Knights down the stretch last season, bringing energy throughout the playoffs. He registered four points (2-2–4) in 47 regular season games before adding seven points (3-4–7) in 18 playoff games for the Western Conference champions. Federkow was originally London’s third round pick in 2019 from the Niagara North Stars U16 program.
“Connor possesses leadership that will circulate through our organization on and off the ice,” said IceDogs Interim GM Wes Consorti of the addition. “He understands what is required to win hockey games, Connor’s versatility will play a key part in our lineup.”
A 10th round pick by London in 2021, Levin was an offensive force with the GOJHL’s St. Thomas Stars last season, leading the league with 42 goals along with 19 assists in just 33 games. Levin also got into eight games with the Knights in 2022-23. Hailing from Tel Aviv, Israel, Levin is the younger brother of former OHL forward David Levin, who played with the Sudbury Wolves from 2015-20.
“Mike brings in high level offensive instincts that we feel will leave a positive mark on our roster throughout the year. He has the ability to create plays at a high rate of speed which is hard to find,” noted Consorti.
