Hayden Sabourin commits to Generals
Oshawa, Ont., – The Oshawa Generals are proud to announce 17-year-old goaltender Hayden Sabourin has committed to the organization.
The 5-foot-11, 165Ib. netminder was the Generals 2nd selection, 28th overall in the 2022 U18 OHL Priority Selection. From Guelph, Ontario, Sabourin spent the 2021-2022 season with the Guelph Jr. Gryphons AAA team. In 13 games played, Sabourin played to a crisp 1.89 goals against average, including two shutouts.
Starting his 2022-2023 season with the Elmira Sugar Kings of the GOJHL, Sabourin has appeared in four games and has a record of 1-1-0-0 with an impressive 1.63 goals against average and a 0.934 save percentage.
Sabourin joined the Generals yesterday to back up Carter Bickle in the Generals 5-0 exhibition game victory over their rival Peterborough Petes.
