Golden Knights prospect Artur Cholach commits to Colts
Barrie, ON – The Barrie Colts are excited to announce they have received a commitment from Artur Cholach, the third overall pick of the 2021 CHL Import Draft.
In July, Cholach, a defenceman hailing from Lviv, Ukraine, was selected by the Vegas Golden Knights in the sixth round (190th overall) of the 2021 NHL Draft.
“Artur will be a great addition to our defensive core and Colts fans should be excited to watch our group. With Artur playing in the U.S previously, his English is very good which helps with the adjustment to our team. We are very excited to have Artur join our team and we look forward to helping him continue in his development,” said Marty Williamson, GM & Head Coach.
The 6-4, 201lb blueliner spent time with Sokol Kyiv for the 2020-21 season in the Ukrainian Professional Hockey League. Cholach saw limited action during the regular season but saw an increased role in playoffs where he recorded two goals in nine playoff games.
Cholach is the first Ukrainian player to be selected in the NHL Draft since 2007 and will be attending Golden Knights Rookie Camp on September 15th.
