Gabriel Chiarot commits to Steelheads
The Mississauga Steelheads have signed their seventh round pick in the 2022 OHL Priority Selection, Gabriel Chiarot, to an OHL Scholarship and Development Agreement.
Mississauga, Ont. – The Mississauga Steelheads announced today the signing of forward Gabriel Chiarot to an OHL scholarship and Development Agreement.
“Gabe is a big strong winger that plays the game with great pace,” said James Richmond, Steelheads Head Coach and General Manager. “He is strong in all three zones of the ice and we look forward to seeing him in a Steelheads jersey this season.”
A Hamilton, Ont. native, Chiarot was selected in the seventh round (136th overall) of the 2022 OHL Priority Selection. Chiarot played his youth hockey for the Brantford 99ers and skated alongside Steelheads Sophomore Lucas Karmiris, posting 27 points (11-16-27) in 24 games in his draft year. This past season, Chariot took his talents to the Welland Jr. Canadiens organization, putting up 21 points (12-9-21) in 46 games played, in what was an important developmental year for the young forward.
Chiarot commented on signing with the hockey club. “I’m very excited to sign with Mississauga and put the Steelheads jersey on! I feel fortunate to be part of this organization led by Coach Richmond and I plan to do my part to help this team succeed”.
Chiarot, known for his grittiness and smooth puck skills helps deepen the impressive young forward core the Mississauga Steelheads have developed. The 5-foot-11 forward is tenacious on the puck and utilizes his speed to drive the play.
