Futures Watch: Sarnia Sting
As the 2025–26 OHL season approaches this September, the Sarnia Sting are looking to build on their (22–33–6–7) record from last year. We spoke with GM Dylan Seca about the new faces fans should be keeping an eye on as the team prepares for the upcoming campaign.
Class Quote
“It’s been a busy off-season, and we’re excited to welcome several young faces to our group as we look to climb back to the top of the Western Conference. With the additions of Patrick Quinlan and Kaden Aucoin, the emergence of Alessandro Di Iorio and Beckham Edwards, the leadership of our returning captain, Lukas Fischer, and the progression of young players like Ryan Brown and Liam Beamish, we believe we have a core that’s ready to take off and challenge the rest of the league.”

Player Spotlights:
Kaden Aucoin – RD
Selected in the first round (26th overall) in the 2025 OHL Priority Selection, Kaden Aucoin spent last season with the Chicago Mission Tier I AAA program, where he earned 48 points (11-37–48) in 70 games played.
“Kaden is a big, right-hand defenceman and is someone we’re excited about. He’s a great skater, has a high hockey IQ and is just hard and heavy to play against. We love a lot of things about his game, and he’s going to be one of our future stars for this organization.”
Brenner Lammens – LW
Selected in the first round (4th overall) in the 2025 OHL Priority Selection, Brenner Lammens captained the Toronto Red Wings U16 AAA during the 2024-25 season, where he recorded 36 points (17-19–36) through 26 games in the Greater Toronto Hockey League (GTHL).
“Brenner is a really powerful player who plays a lot like Matthew Tkachuk. He loves to play around the net and just get under everybody’s skin. He has high hockey IQ, and we believe that he will help solidify our identity as a team that’s going to be really hard to play against every given night.”
Patrick Quinlan – G
Selected in the eighth round (157th overall) of the 2023 OHL Priority Selection, Patrick Quinlan suited up for the U.S. National Under-18 Team, appearing in 26 games and posting a 15-1-1-7 record, along with a 3.30 goals-against average and .884 save percentage in the 2024-25 season. He also represented Team USA at the 2025 IIHF Under-18 World Championship, helping the Americans capture a bronze medal with five strong appearances in net.
“Patrick is coming to Sarnia from the US National Team, where he was arguably the starting goaltender for that program over the last couple of years. We believe that he has the upside to be one of the best goalies in his age group in North America, and we’re excited to have him in our organization before he heads off to the NCAA.”
Jacob Reese – RD
Acquired as a free agent in June 2025, Jacob Reese joins the Sting after spending the 24-25 season with the Rochester Jr. Americans of the NAHL, tallying 10 points (1-9–10) and 152 penalty minutes in 53 games.
“Jacob is a right-shot defenceman out of the Rochester Jr. Americans and was a free agent that had caught our eye throughout the year. He’s a hard player to play against, thrives in the net front battles and is a penalty kill specialist who just loves to block shots and stick up for himself and his teammates. We are excited to see how we will help with our team identity.”
Kase Kamzik – LW
Selected in the eighth round (146th overall) in the 2025 OHL Priority Selection, Kase Kamzik spent last season with the Pittsburgh Penguins Elite 16U AAA program, where he tallied 59 points (26-33–59) in 50 games.
“Kase is a big kid who is coming out of the Pittsburgh program. He’s a powerful player with a really good release. He’s going to help round out our lineup and is adding to the size that we’ve been trying to target over the last couple of months.”
