Sting sign goaltender Patrick Quinlan
The Sarnia Sting are proud to announce that goaltender Patrick Quinlan has officially signed a Standard Player Agreement with the hockey club.
Quinlan, a 6-ft, 183-pound netminder from Kennett Square, Pennsylvania, was selected by the Sting in the 8th round (157th overall) of the 2023 OHL Priority Selection. Over the past two seasons, he has developed into one of the most promising goaltenders in his age group, recently earning the 18th overall spot on NHL Central Scouting’s Final Rankings ahead of the 2025 NHL Draft.
In 2024-25, Quinlan suited up for the U.S. National Under-18 Team, appearing in 26 games and posting a 15-1-1-7 record, along with a 3.30 goals-against average and .884 save percentage. He also represented Team USA at the 2025 IIHF Under-18 World Championship, helping the Americans capture a bronze medal with five strong appearances in net. His performance on the international stage, including multiple Five Nations tournaments and the World Under-17 Hockey Challenge, has consistently showcased his ability to rise to the occasion in high-pressure situations.
“Watching Patrick evolve into one of the top-ranked goaltenders in his class has been exciting,” shared General Manger, Dylan Seca. “That 18th spot on Central Scouting’s list reflects his preparation and maturity. He’s the kind of goaltender that can anchor a team, and we know he’ll play a big role in our team.”
In addition to his international resume and elite ranking, Quinlan is also committed to the University of Notre Dame, underscoring his strong academic and athletic foundation.
The Sarnia Sting are excited to welcome Patrick and his family to the organization and look forward to supporting his continued development on and off the ice.
