Futures Watch: Kingston Frontenacs
As the 2025–26 OHL season approaches this September, the Kingston Frontenacs are looking to build on their (40–20–5–3) record from last year. We spoke with Kory Cooper about the new faces fans should be keeping an eye on as the team prepares for the upcoming campaign.

Player Spotlights:
Aleks Kulemin – C
Selected in the first round (9th overall) in the 2025 OHL Priority Selection, Aleks Kulemin played for the Don Mills Flyers U16 AAA program last season and had 31 points (14-17–31) in 31 games. He is the son of former Toronto Maple Leafs and New York Islanders forward, Nikolay Kulemin.
“Aleks is a modern two-way centre who projects into the mold of a pro hockey player. With a 6’3 frame and high hockey IQ, he has the potential to impact the game in all situations. Down the stretch last year he became a key piece to Don Mills’ success and has continued to grow his game over the summer. Aleks will be a big part of our team moving forward.”
Matthew Henderson – LD
Selected in the first round (17th overall) in the 2025 OHL Priority Selection, Matthew Henderson joins the Frontenacs from the Huron Perth Lakers AAA program. During the 2024-25 season, Henderson posted 26 points (6-20–26) in 30 regular season games. He added two goals and seven assists in eleven playoff games. He also appeared in 2 games for the Sarnia Legionnaires of the GOJHL.
“Matthew is the kind of player who fits our style and identity very well. He is an excellent skater who defends with a good stick and transitions the puck at a high rate of success. With Huron-Perth he played big minutes against other teams’ top players and we expect him to do more of the same in Kingston down the road.”
Tomas Pobezal – C
The Frontenacs acquired the rights to Tomas Pobezal in a trade with Kitchener Rangers on June 9, 2025. Born in Puchov, Slovakia, Tomas spent the 2024-25 season with HK Nitra of Slovak Extraliga. In 45 regular season appearances, he tallied 23 points (15-8–23) as an 18-year-old at Slovakia’s highest level. He also represented Slovakia at the 2025 World Junior Championship appearing in all five of his team’s games.
“Tomas comes to Kingston as a projected top 6 forward with offensive flair. We expect him to be an impact player right away next season. Last season in the Slovak Extraliga, he found ways to get to the hard areas and produce offensively through his quickness and competitiveness. We are excited to have him in our lineup.”
Robin Kuzma – C
Signed as a free agent in May, 2025, Robin Kuzma spent the majority of the 24-25 season with the Chicago Mission 16U AAA program. In 63 games, he recorded 80 points (35-45–80). The 17-year-old also spent time with the Green Bay Gamblers of the USHL and the US National Team Development Program. The Naperville, IL native is the younger brother of former Frontenacs draft selection Andrew Kuzma.
“Robin is a versatile, two-way centre/winger with very good hockey IQ. He comes to us as a free agent signing from the Chicago Mission where he was a leader on their team and top point producer. He was a stand out player at our Development Camp this spring and we are looking forward to seeing his continued progression this season.”
Camden McCuaig – LW
Selected in the fifth round (87th overall) in the 2024 OHL Prority Selection, Camden McCuaig spent the 2024-25 season with the Cornwall Colts of the CCHL where he recorded 30 points (16-14–30) in 45 games. He appeared in four games with the Frontenacs.
“Camden is a big body winger who has shown big improvement in his skating and overall game last year playing junior A with the Cornwall Colts of the CCHL. He has an ability to find open spaces and is a dangerous shooter. We are excited to see him take the next step in his NHL Draft year.”
