Frontenacs announce change behind the bench
Kingston, Ont. – The Kingston Frontenacs are announcing changes to their coaching staff with the dismissal of head coach Kurtis Foster. The change is effective immediately and comes with team management reflecting on the past two seasons as head coach.
“We would like to thank Kurtis for his hard work and dedication during his tenure with the Frontenacs,” said Darren Keily, General Manager of the Kingston Frontenacs. “Internally, we had the time to discuss our future, and felt that while we did take some steps forward on the ice this past season, going forward we need a new voice and plan to see this team reach its fullest potential.”
Management will take time in the process to hire a new head coach, with a process that will include looking to the pro ranks once the NHL and AHL seasons resume from the COVID-19 situation,” said Keily. “Our goal for our next head coach is to hire a person with a great deal of experience, with a pro mentality. It’s also very important to our team to bring in a head coach who has previously worked with junior or college players. We ask our players, their parents, and most of all our fans to be patient with us as we will be waiting for the NHL and AHL picture to become clearer.”
