From the O to the Pros: OHL Alumni Weekly Round-Up (Feb. 19, 2026)
The Ontario Hockey League continues to produce standouts at the professional level, with alumni making headlines across the NHL and AHL. From milestone moments to first career goals, OHL grads continue to shape the hockey landscape every week. Here’s a look at the top alumni stories from the past seven days.
Feature Stories of the Week (NHL)
While the NHL is currently on the Olympic break, men’s hockey at the Milano Cortina Games began on February 11, featuring 41 OHL graduates on opening rosters. The tournament also marks the return of NHL players to Olympic competition for the first time in 12 years.
Dalibor Dvorsky (Sudbury Wolves)
The youngest OHL alumnus competing at the Olympics, Dvorsky (3-3–6) now holds the record for the most points ever by an NHL rookie and by any St. Louis Blues player in a single Olympic tournament.

Mitch Marner (London Knights)
In his Olympic debut, Marner scored the overtime winner for Team Canada on Wednesday to send them to the semifinals. The goal also marked the fastest overtime winner (1:22) in an Olympic game featuring NHL players.

Connor McDavid (Erie Otters)
McDavid recorded two assists in Canada’s win over Czechia, tying the record for most points at a single Olympic tournament featuring NHL players. With 11 points (2-9–11), he has extended his multi-point streak to four games, matching the longest by any player in an Olympic tournament with NHL participation.

Avery Hayes (Hamilton Bulldogs/Peterborough Petes)
Fresh off being named Player of the Week, Hayes earned AHL First Star of the Night honours on February 18 after recording his second hat trick of the season and firing a career-high 10 shots on goal.

Kasper Halttunen (London Knights)
Shortly after returning to London to receive his championship ring, Halttunen was named AHL First Star of the Night on February 15 following his first career hat trick. He currently ranks second on the Barracuda in rookie goals.

Brendan Gaunce (Belleville/Erie)
Gaunce was named AHL Third Star of the Night on February 15 after tallying the overtime winner along with two assists.

- Nick Suzuki (Owen Sound/Guelph) –Scored the game-tying goal for Team Canada in the final minutes of regulation.
- Jordan Binnington (Owen Sound) – Turned aside 21 shots in Canada’s overtime victory.
- Gabriel Landeskog (Kitchener) – He and Andre Kempe scored 41 seconds apart, marking the third-fastest two goals by Team Sweden in an Olympic game featuring NHL players.
- Arthur Kaliyev (Hamilton) – Tied for third in AHL scoring with 49 points (29-20–49) in 50 games.
- Logan Morrison (Hamilton/Ottawa) – Also tied for third in AHL scoring with 49 points (24-25–49) in 48 games.
