Friday Highlights: Rangers return to winning ways

– The Rangers stayed a step ahead of the Greyhounds on the scoreboard, with Mitchell Martin scoring the third period game winner with 11:58 remaining.
– Overage defenceman Justin Nolet earned first star honours with his first career two-goal contest.
– The win snaps a Rangers three-game slide, giving them their first win at The Aud since Oct. 23.
– Tye Kartye scored his 16th and 17th of the season for the Greyhounds.
– Pavel Cajan made 36 saves for the win opposite Sault Ste. Marie’s Samuel Ivanov who stopped 34.
– Kitchener improves to 9-10-0-0 for fourth in the Midwest Division.
– The Greyhounds drop a second straight road decision but still lead the West Division with an 11-9-0-0 record.

– A five-goal first period saw the 67’s climb out of a 2-0 hole to lead 3-2 after 20 minutes.
– Ryan Gagnier tied the score at three 2:13 into the third before Boston Bruins prospect Brett Harrison’s second of the night was the game winner 36 seconds into overtime.
– Andrew Whitton scored his first career OHL goal for the Generals.
– Defencemen accounted for two of three Ottawa goals, coming off the sticks of Matthew Mayich and Anthony Costantini.
– Jack Dever had an assist in his OHL debut for the 67’s, joining teammate Cooper Foster in his first career contest.
– Ottawa outshot Oshawa 36-22 as Patrick Leaver made 33 saves for the win.
– The Generals improve to 9-6-1-2, handing the 67’s their fourth straight loss and now sit one point back of the second place Barber Poles in the East Division.

– Edmonton Oilers prospect Matvey Petrov scored his 16th of the season, extending his point streak to seven games.
– Nathan Poole scored his first career OHL goal for the Frontenacs.
– Ottawa Senators prospect Ben Roger made his Frontenacs debut.
– Kingston’s Lucas Edmonds saw a seven-game point streak snapped.
– North Bay outshot Kingston 34-26 as Joe Vrbetic made 24 saves for his fourth straight win.
– The Battalion improve to 13-7-0-1, three points up on Mississauga and Hamilton for first in the Eastern Conference.

– Brett Brochu earned second star honours for London with 34 saves as the Knights were outshot 37-27.
– Luke Evangelista provided both London goals, giving him 18 on the season to tie Guelph’s Sasha Pastujov for the most in the League.
– Owen Bennett made 25 saves for the win.
– The Storm improve to 11-6-1-1, five points back of first place London in the Midwest.
– Rookie defenceman Carson Lloyd made his OHL debut for London.
