Job Title: Game Night Digital Content Coordinator
Reports To: Director, Communications
Location: Predominately remote, with on-site assignments by request
Job Type: Part-time (Evenings and weekends throughout the 2024-25 season, September 16th, 2024 to June 1st, 2025)
Salary: $20/hour, 24-28 hours per week

The Game Night Digital Content Coordinator will be the in-game visionary for all things OHL content on select game nights taking place on evenings and weekends throughout the 2024-25 season and playoffs. Objectives:
Social Media Presence: To provide comprehensive coverage, updates, and engaging content about the OHL, its teams, and players.
Fan Engagement: To offer content that appeals to a broad audience, building a strong community of hockey enthusiasts.
Talent Development: To promote the OHL as the premier developer of hockey talent for the NHL and U SPORTS.
Brand Growth: To enhance the brand recognition of the OHL, emphasizing its role in the development of future hockey stars and aspiring professionals.
Primary Responsibilities:
The Game Night Digital Content Coordinator will enhance the league’s digital presence across multiple social media channels (X, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook) while also contributing game night coverage in the form of recaps and summaries at ontariohockeyleague.com.
Specific tasks would include:
- Creating and distributing social media video and visual/graphic content in a variety of different sizes and formats
- Posting highlights and editing graphic templates for both organic and sponsored content
- Manage league highlights distribution and syndication at ontariohockeyleague.com
- Short form written content in the form of game recaps and summaries at ontariohockeyleague.com
- Monitor the OHL’s streaming service and communicate with CHL Master Control as well as OHL member team personnel to ensure smooth execution of broadcasts
- Liaise with Hockey Operations department to fulfill video requests in areas such as discipline and player safety
- On-site and/or remote support by request at annual events such as the OHL Priority Selection, OHL Cup, U14 OHL Cup, World Juniors, U17 Hockey Challenge, etc.
- Analysis of social metrics to determine best practices, required adjustments to ensure maximized efficiency
Desired Qualifications/Strengths:
- Completed or ongoing degree in marketing, communications, sport media or a related field
- Experience in social media, preferably in sports or entertainment
- Good communication skills – ability to frame a narrative in a creative and engaging way
- High proficiency in TikTok, X, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube and other emerging platforms
- Experience with Adobe Suite, including Premiere (or Final Cut Pro or another video editing software), Photoshop and After Effects
- Flexibility and willingness to work during hours that OHL games are ongoing, most prominently evenings and weekends
- Creative, energetic and proactive approach to work
- Awareness of and interest in the latest digital, social media and emerging trends shaping the sport landscape
