Easton Wainwright commits to Sting
Sarnia, ON. – Sarnia Sting General Manager Dylan Seca announced today that the Hockey Club has signed 16-year-old forward Easton Wainwright to an Ontario Hockey League Standard Player Agreement.
The Mount Hope, ON native was originally selected in the ninth-round (172nd overall) in the 2021 OHL Priority Selection. Wainwright is currently leading his Brantford 99ers of the Ontario Junior Hockey League team in goals (19) and points (33), as a rookie.
“We’re thrilled to sign Easton and want to welcome him and his family to the Sarnia Sting organization.” Comments General Manager Dylan Seca.
“He had an impressive Training Camp and we have followed his progress through the early part of the season. His play in Brantford has been excellent, playing important minutes for his team and having a strong statistical season thus far. He is a competitive player with good puck skills and hockey sense. He will remain with his current club, but we expect to see him in a Sting uniform this season.” Seca adds.
Wainwright is eager to begin his journey with the Sting, commenting on today’s announcement.
