Colts’ Cholach representing Ukraine at Division 1B World Junior Championship
Barrie Colts defenceman Artur Cholach is in Tallinn, Estonia representing his native Ukraine at the 2022 IIHF Division I, Group B World Junior Hockey Championship.
The 6-foot-4, 198Ib. product of Novoyavorivsk, Ukraine was a sixth round (190th overall) pick of the Vegas Golden Knights in the 2021 NHL Draft and has five points (1-4–5) through 14 games with the Colts this season.
The 18-year-old was selected by the Colts with the third overall pick of the 2021 CHL Import Draft after spending last season playing in Ukraine. He spent the 2019-20 season playing with the New Jersey Titans 18U AAA program.
Cholach recorded four assists in Ukraine’s first tournament contest on Sunday, a 7-2 win over host Estonia.
