Attack pick-up overage spark plug Bruce McDonald
The Owen Sound Attack added a veteran body to their forward ranks on Monday, getting overage centre/wing Bruce McDonald from the Erie Otters in exchange for a sixth round pick in 2027.
A former third round pick by Erie in the 2022 OHL U18 Priority Selection, McDonald became a fan favourite in Erie for his tireless work ethic and tenacity. He recorded 35 points (18-17–35) over 65 games last season.
“We are excited to add Bruce to our group of veterans ready to compete for a spot with this year’s team” said Owen Sound Attack GM Dale DeGray. “He has the potential to be a great role model for our younger players and be an impact player for us, like he emerged as a solid option for Erie a year ago.”
Hailing from Ottawa, McDonald joins overage options in Owen Sound that also include other forwards in Landen Hookey and Jackson Stewart along with Taos Jordan and Anaheim Ducks prospect Konnor Smith on the back end.
“We wish to extend our thanks to Bruce for his time spent in Erie,” said Otters Vice President and General Manager Dave Brown, “Thanks to his determination and perseverance, Bruce made significant contributions to the organization both on and off the ice, and we appreciate his efforts immensely. We extend our best wishes to Bruce for tremendous success as he embarks on his future endeavors with Owen Sound and beyond.”
