Today, we take a closer look at the Buffalo Sabres’ prospect pool.

Doman Szongoth (C) – Soo Greyhounds (2026-27)

Selected: 5th Round, 156th Overall (2026)

2025-26 Stats (KooKoo U20): 44 GP, 10G, 18A, 28 PTS, -3

Age: 18

Following his selection by the Soo Greyhounds in the 2025 CHL Import Draft, Doman Szongoth remained with KooKoo, recording 28 points (10-18–28) in 44 U20 SM-sarja games. The Budapest, Hungary, native also represented his country at the 2026 IIHF World Championship, recording one goal in seven games. Selected by the Buffalo Sabres in the fifth round (156th overall) of the 2026 NHL Draft, Szongoth became just the fifth Hungarian-born player ever chosen in the NHL Draft. He is expected to make his OHL debut with the Greyhounds in 2026-27.

David Bedkowski (D) – Oshawa Generals (2022-25), Owen Sound Attack (2024-26), Ottawa 67’s (2025-26)

Selected: 3rd Round, 71st Overall (2025)

OHL Career Stats: 228 GP, 12G, 41A, 53 PTS, -16

Age: 19

Originally selected 36th overall by the Oshawa Generals in the 2022 OHL Priority Selection, David Bedkowski completed his fourth OHL season after being acquired by the Ottawa 67’s at the January trade deadline. The former Owen Sound captain established career highs with 29 points (5-24–29) in 68 regular-season games split between the Attack and 67’s during the 2025-26 season.
