2024 OHL Cup Wild Card play-in matchups determined

Toronto, Ont. – The Ontario Hockey League in association with the Greater Toronto Hockey League today announced the three Wild Card play-in matchups which will determine the final three entries for the 2024 OHL Cup Showcase Tournament presented by FPS Payment.

All matchups were randomly drawn on Wednesday night and streamed live on OHL Live.

2024 OHL Cup Wild Card Play-In Schedule:

Monday, March 25, 2024
WC 1, 8:00am – Cambridge Hawks vs. York-Simcoe Express (Scotiabank Pond, Rink 3)
WC 2, 8:15am – Niagara North Stars vs. Halton Hurricanes (Scotiabank Pond, Rink 4)
WC 3, 9:45am – Upper Canada Cyclones vs. Toronto Jr. Canadiens (Scotiabank Pond, Rink 3)

The Toronto Jr. Canadiens (GTHL), Niagara North Stars (OMHA) and Cambridge Hawks (ALLIANCE) earned their spots by way of qualification. The Halton Hurricanes (OMHA), Upper Canada Cyclones (HEO) and York-Simcoe Express (OMHA) were granted opportunities by way of an OHL Cup Selection Committee based on their performance throughout the 2023-24 season.

The three winners of the Wild Card play-in games will join 17 other clubs who earned their qualification through league play and regional representation. Final divisional alignment and a 40-game round robin tournament schedule will be confirmed ahead of tournament action on Monday.
