O’Sullivan Named OHL Player of the Week
Mississauga IceDogs centre Patrick O’Sullivan is the OHL player of the week for the week ending Sunday December 21 after scoring five goals and three assists for eight points in two games.
O’Sullivan scored a goal and added a pair of assists in a 4-4 tie with the Kitchener Rangers on December 16. He followed up with four goals, including the game-winner, and one assist in an 8-3 win over the Oshawa Generals on December 17. He was named first star in both games.
O’Sullivan, who will represent the United States in the World Junior Championships in Finland, leads all OHL scorers with 28 goals in 29 games. He also has 23 assists and leads the IceDogs with 51 points.
The 18-year-old native of Winston Salem, North Carolina, was the first overall pick in the 2001 OHL Priority Selection. He was a second round pick of the Minnesota Wild at the NHL Entry Draft in June.
