2026 OHL Performance Development Program Registration now open
Registration is now open for the 2026 OHL Performance Development Program, the Ontario Hockey League’s eight-week spring hockey training initiative for U14, U15, U16, and U18 players across the province. The 2026 OHL Performance Development Program runs throughout April, May, and June and is designed to provide structured, high-tempo development led by OHL coaches. Built around skill progression and competitive play, the program supports players looking to continue their growth during the off-season in a professional training environment. Read more
Sign-up today for the 5th Annual OHL Officiating Prospect Development Combine
The Ontario Hockey League (OHL) is pleased to announce the 5th Annual Officiating Prospect Development Combine (OPDC), scheduled for June 5th and 6th, 2026, at the Courtyard Marriott and the newly renovated Susan Fennell Sportsplex in Brampton, Ontario. The OPDC has become one of the OHL’s most important officiating development initiatives. Each year, the League receives more than 200 applications, with approximately 90 officials selected to participate. Since the program’s inception, 72 participants have advanced to the OHL Officiating Training Camp, and 54 participants are currently officiating in the OHL. Read more
Rangers ride to top of OHL Power Rankings for first time this season
The Blueshirts climb into the top spot for the first time this season, defeating Guelph, Brampton and London to secure their first Midwest Division title since 2018. The Windsor Spitfires are up two spots to #4 on this week’s list. Read more

The Kitchener Rangers lead the way for the OHL in the 23rd edition of CHL Top 10 Rankings presented by Delta Hotels by Marriott. The Rangers come in at fifth, accompanied by the Brantford Bulldogs at 7th and the Barrie Colts at 8th. Read more

New York Rangers prospect Liam Greentree of the Windsor Spitfires is the Cogeco OHL Player of the Week, scoring six goals while adding an assist to help the Spits earn three straight victories. Read more

Colts’ Aitcheson establishes new franchise single season goals mark for a defenceman: Barrie Colts blueliner Kashawn Aitcheson established yet another franchise mark on Wednesday, scoring his 27th goal of the season to set a new Colts single-season mark for goals by a defenceman. Aitcheson continues his revision of the franchise records books, already holding records that include career goals and points by a Barrie blueliner. The New York Islanders first round NHL Draft pick leads OHL blueliners with 64 points (27-37–64) over 49 games this season.
Spitfires’ Belchetz sidelined indefinitely: The Windsor Spitfires shared some difficult news this week. Top 2026 NHL Draft prospect Ethan Belchetz will be out of the lineup for the foreseeable future after suffering a broken left clavicle. Belchetz will require surgery, followed by rehab and treatment. The 6-foot-5, 227Ib. winger from Oakville, ON has 34 goals, 25 assists and 59 points over 57 games this season.
67’s’ Sima ready for 300th game: Ottawa 67’s forward Nic Sima will suit up in his 300th career OHL game on Thursday night in Peterborough, a milestone that means a great deal to him. The former Memorial Cup champion will become the 144th player in OHL history to reach the 300-game mark in his career. Read more
King to officiate final game on Saturday in Erie: Long-time OHL linesman Ray King will work his final assignment on Saturday night in his hometown of Erie as the Otters take on the London Knights. King worked a total of 250 career OHL regular season games.
Attack raise more than $33,000 for Tyson Downs Association: The Owen Sound Attack and Tyson Downs Association (TDBeAT) are thrilled to share the result of the January 31st fundraising game, with a final tally of $33,961.35 raised. The in-game fundraising activities included an extremely generous bucket pass dollar total of $7679, and a Chuck-A-Puck and donation total of $1857. The jersey auction which featured the custom TDBeAT themed game worn and issued jerseys raised a total of $10,120.11. Read more
Progressive Auto Sales Arena naming rights extended through 2030-31 season: The Sarnia Sting, in partnership with the City of Sarnia, announced Wednesday at five-year renewal of the arena naming rights agreement with Progressivev Auto Group. This ensures the home of Sarnia Sting OHL Hockey and a major hub for local community programming will continue to be known as Progressive Auto Sales Arena through the 2030–31 season. Read more
Rangers trying to break OHL 50/50 record with mega jackpot: The Kitchener Rangers and Rangers Reach are aiming to make Ontario Hockey League history with the launch of the 2026 Rangers Reach 50/50 Mega Jackpot. While the event features a guaranteed minimum $50,000 grand prize, organizers believe the jackpot could climb past $100,000 by the time it is drawn on March 13. No 50/50 draw in the OHL has previously surpassed the six-figure mark, meaning the Rangers could set a new league record if the total reaches that milestone. Read more

Battalion sign forward Kam Hodgson: The North Bay Battalion have signed sixth round 2024 OHL Priority Selection choice Kam Hodgson to an OHL Scholarship and Development Agreement. The Midhurst, ON product has 29 goals, 21 assists and 50 points in 48 games with Culver Academy Prep this season. Read more
Colts sign free agent defenceman Luke Howard: The Barrie Colts have signed 18-year-old defenceman Luke Howard of the OJHL’s Toronto Patriots to an OHL Scholarship and Development Agreement. The 6-foot-3 defender has 44 points (8-36–44) over 46 games between Toronto and the Aurora Tigers this season. Read more

IceDogs host Star Wars Night on Thursday: The Niagara IceDogs are hoping the Force will be with them on Thursday night when they battle the Saginaw Spirit on Star Wars Night. The Dogs will wear special Star Wars theme jerseys that will be auctioned off post-game in support of the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
Hockey is for the Dogs on Friday in Kingston: Bring your furry friend to Slush Puppie Place on Friday for “Hockey is for the Dogs Night” against the Brampton Steelheads. Friday’s game will be played in support of the Kingston Humane Society. Frontenacs players had the opportunity to visit with some dogs at practice last week and you can check out the footage here! Storm support United Way, Guelph Community Foundation on Friday: Friday, March 6th is Meridian Home for Good Night at the Sleeman Centre as the Owen Sound Attack take on the Guelph Storm. there will be information tables along the concourse, and the Chuck-a-Puck fundraiser will be held during the second intermission with three great prizes, including a commemorative stick signed by the 2025/2026 Storm team, $100.00 cash courtesy of Freedom Mobile, and 3 other great prizes! Rangers celebrate International Women’s Day on Friday: The Kitchener Rangers host the Soo Greyhounds on Friday night, and they’ll take the opportunity to celebrate the incredible women who make the organization and community stronger. Throughout the game, the Rangers will be highlighting the important women in players’ lives: the moms, sisters, coaches, teachers, billets, and mentors who have supported them on their journey and encouraged them to chase their dreams all the way to the OHL.

Troops celebrate Sarge’s Birthday on Sunday: The big man celebrates his birthday on Sunday afternoon when the Battalion play host to the rival Sudbury Wolves. It’s Sarge’s Birthday at Boart Longyear Memorial Gardens!

McDavid becomes third player in NHL history with nine 100-point seasons: Connor McDavid has joined Wayne Gretzky (15) and Mario Lemieux (10) as the third player in NHL history with nine different 100-point seasons. The Edmonton Oilers captain and Erie Otters graduate crossed the century mark last week. It’s the sixth time in his career that he’s been the NHL’s first player to 100 points in a season. The only other players to accomplish that feat six times include Wayne Gretzky (9x), Mario Lemieux (6x) and Phil Esposito (6x). McDavid played three seasons in Erie, earning the Red Tilson Trophy as the OHL’s Most Outstanding Player in 2015.
Schaefer hits 20-goal mark as storybook season continues: Erie Otters graduate Matthew Schaefer continues to make history for the New York Islanders, doing tremendous things as an 18-year-old defenceman. Schaefer scored his 20th goal of the season on Sunday as the Islanders beat the Florida Panthers 5-4. He’s now tied with Dion Phaneuf (2005-06) for the third-most goals by a rookie defenceman in NHL history, trailing Brian Leetch (23, 1988-89) and Barry Beck (22, 1977-78) in that department. It marked the first time in NHL history of a defenceman being the first rookie to reach the 20-goal mark in a season. He joins Denis Potvin (9x) as just the second Islanders defenceman to reach the 20-goal mark in a season. Schaefer played two seasons in Erie from 2023-25 and was the first overall pick of both the OHL and NHL Drafts coming up through the system.
Sennecke becomes first NHL rookie to hit 50-point mark: Oshawa Generals graduate Beckett Sennecke became the fastest rookie player in Anaheim Ducks history to hit the 50-point mark on Wednesday night, doing so in his 61st game. He bested the previous mark held by another OHL graduate in Bobby Ryan, who reached the milestone in 69 games during the 2003-04 season. Sennecke leads NHL rookie scoring with 51 points (20-31–51) over 61 games. He played three seasons in Oshawa from 2022-25, helping the Generals win back-to-back Eastern Conference titles.
Brandon Halverson named AHL Goaltender of the Month: Soo Greyhounds graduate Brandon Halverson is the AHL Goaltender of the Month for February, going 6-0 with a 1.67 goals-against average and .934 save percentage with two shutouts. The 30-year-old is 20-6-3 on the season with a 2.17 goals-against average and .912 save percentage and league-leading six shutouts. Halverson played for the Greyhounds from 2013-16, winning 40 games during the 2014-15 season as the Hounds reached the Western Conference Final. Read more
