Kitchener Rangers Trying to Break OHL 50/50 Record With Mega Jackpot
The Kitchener Rangers and Rangers Reach are aiming to make Ontario Hockey League history with the launch of the 2026 Rangers Reach 50/50 Mega Jackpot. While the event features a guaranteed minimum $50,000 grand prize, organizers believe the jackpot could climb past $100,000 by the time it is drawn on March 13. No 50/50 draw in the OHL has previously surpassed the six-figure mark, meaning the Rangers could set a new league record if the total reaches that milestone.
Last year’s Mega Jackpot reached $53,330, setting a Kitchener franchise record for a single-game 50/50 draw. This year, Rangers Reach has expanded the format to create more excitement and help grow the jackpot even further.
Expanded event with 21 prize draws
The Mega Jackpot event now stretches across more than two weeks and includes 21 total draws, offering more opportunities for fans to win prizes while building toward the final jackpot.
Participants can take part in Early Bird draws featuring cash prizes, exclusive experiences, and NHL memorabilia. Highlights include:
- Multiple $3,000 cash giveaways
- A Rangers playoff suite experience in Club 63 with a $500 food and beverage credit
- A pair of 2026-27 Rangers season tickets
- Autographed NHL jerseys from stars including Sidney Crosby, Auston Matthews, Radek Faksa, Mark Scheifele, Nazem Kadri and Arber Xhekaj
- A pair of tickets to see the Toronto Maple Leafs host the Florida Panthers
In total, more than $17,000 in additional prizes will be awarded during the lead-up to the final draw.
Grand finale set for March 13
The Mega Jackpot will be drawn on March 13 when the Rangers host the Owen Sound Attack at The Aud.
That night will feature the final Early Bird prize draws, including an autographed Sidney Crosby Pittsburgh Penguins jersey and Maple Leafs tickets at 5:00 p.m. A $200 gift card to The Keg Steakhouse + Bar Waterloo will also be awarded before the grand prize draw.
The guaranteed minimum $50,000 Mega Jackpot will be awarded at 9:15 p.m., with organizers hopeful the final total could surpass the $100,000 mark.
Community impact
Proceeds from the Mega Jackpot support Rangers Reach initiatives across the Waterloo Region, funding community grants, player-led initiatives and scholarships.
The charity distributed approximately $500,000 to local organizations last year, with funds raised through events like the Mega Jackpot playing a key role in expanding those community programs.
Tickets remain eligible for all Early Bird draws and the final jackpot, meaning a single ticket number can win multiple times throughout the event.
Fans can purchase tickets and find the full draw schedule online at Rangers5050.com or during upcoming Rangers home games.
With the potential for a record-setting prize and weeks of draws leading up to the finale, Rangers Reach hopes the 2026 Mega Jackpot will deliver both excitement for fans and meaningful support for the community.
