OHL Notebook: Oct. 7, 2025
Here’s a look at some of the top storylines from an action-packed weekend across the league:
Attack takes down red-hot Spitfires and ends their seven-game winning streak
Starting the weekend undefeated, but dropping their first two games to Kitchener and Saginaw, Owen Sound was hungry to take down league-leading Windsor on Sunday, who entered the Bayshore with a franchise-tying 7–0 start. In the game, the Attack came out flying, jumping to a 4–0 lead early in the second period. Windsor pushed back to cut the deficit to one, but Owen Sound held firm in the closing minutes, adding two empty-netters to seal the victory and hand the Spitfires their first loss of the season.
The Ottawa 67’s last undefeated team standing
With three teams entering the weekend undefeated (Owen Sound, Windsor, and Ottawa), only the 67’s emerged unscathed. Ottawa took a 4–1 win at home over the Erie Otters to continue their perfect start (4–0). Their offence dominated, firing 58 shots on Erie goaltender Noah Erliden while allowing only 16 against.
Windsor’s Joey Costanzo continues to set the standard
Veteran netminder Joey Costanzo remains atop all major goaltending categories, ending the week with a 5–0–0–0 record, 0.98 GAA, .957 SV%, and two shutouts. He’s now tied for the second-most shutouts in Spitfires franchise history with seven in his OHL career.

After a scoreless extra frame, Dallas Stars prospect Brad Gardiner sealed the comeback in the shootout, scoring the lone goal in three rounds.
