IceDogs’ Levin to represent Israel at U20 World Championship
Niagara IceDogs forward Mike Levin will represent Israel at the upcoming U20 World Championship Division III, Group A in Sofia, Bulgaria from January 22-28.
Levin, a 2005 born forward who hails from Tel Aviv, Israel has enjoyed some success in his first full OHL season. In 39 games, Levin has recorded 15 goals and 12 assists for 27 points. Levin has recorded 11 points in his last 10 games. The younger brother of former OHL forward and first overall draft pick David Levin, Mike participated with Israel in last year’s tournament, capturing a silver medal while producing 12 goals and seven assists for 19 points in only six games played.
A former 10th round pick by the London Knights in the 2021 OHL Priority Selection, Levin starred for the GOJHL’s St. Thomas Stars in 2022-23, recording 42 goals, 19 assists and 61 points in just 33 games, finishing as the league’s top goal-scorer.
Israel will compete against Mexico, Bulgaria, Turkey, New Zealand and Kyrgyzstan as they seek a gold medal in their hunt for promotion to the next level of IIHF play.
