Bulldogs’ Kaliyev becomes club’s career goal-scoring leader
It was another day at the office for Arthur Kaliyev, who scored twice and added two assists in a 9-4 Hamilton Bulldogs win over the visiting Niagara IceDogs on Saturday.
With his 33rd and 34th goals of the season, Kaliyev surpassed Matthew Strome as Hamilton’s all-time goal-scoring leader with 116 to his name over the course of 177 regular season games.

An 18-year-old from Staten Island, NY, Kaliyev currently sits fifth in OHL scoring with 75 points (34-41–75) over 42 games. That despite missing time off at World Junior duty representing the United States through parts of December and January. The 6-foot-2, 190Ib. winger was a second round (33rd overall) pick of the Los Angeles Kings in the 2019 NHL Draft.
Originally Hamilton’s second round (26th overall) pick in the 2017 OHL Priority Selection, Kaliyev recorded 31 goals and 48 points as a rookie in 2017-18, helping the Bulldogs win an OHL Championship in just their third season. He became the first Bulldogs player to record over 100 points in a season in 2018-19, finishing with 51 goals and 102 points over 67 games. His 75 points through 42 games in 2019-20 lead the club.
