Wolves Pre Season Wrap Up
The Sudbury Wolves will close-out their pre-season schedule by traveling to Kitchener on Wednesday to play their seventh and final exhibition game against the Rangers. The Wolves have a 2-4 win-loss record so far in pre-season play and will be looking to end the pre-season on a winning note in Kitchener.
The Wolves will be using Wednesday’s game as a final look as the team prepares to decide on their final roster positions. The team will open the 2014-15 OHL season at home on Friday, Sept. 26th against the Niagara Ice Dogs. The Wolves are expecting to have 22 or 23 players on their active roster for the home opener.
“We certainly have some difficult decisions to make as all of our players have worked hard and have shown steady improvement” notes Wolves’ GM Blaine Smith. “We also have to look at our needs as a team and having the right mix of ages and depth at each position.”
A few of the Wolves’ players will rest-up and heal some injuries this week including goaltender Troy Timpano who suffered an injury during weekend play. The Wolves have called-up 19-year-old goaltender Jesse Morin from the Nickel Barons Jr. A team to participate in team practices this week.
