Wolves lose to Colts
The Sudbury Wolves travelled to Barrie on Thursday night for the final time this season to take on the Colts in this central division rivalry.
The Wolves jumped out to the early 1 – 0 lead on a beauty goal from BRODY SILK (JOSH MCFADDEN, ANDREY KUCHIN) at the 3:24 mark of the opening frame. The Colts responded with two goals of their own, however, and took a 2 – 1 lead into the dressing room at the first intermission.
The Colts continued to add to their lead early in the second period scoring two goals only 36 seconds apart for 4 – 1 lead. This meant the end of the night for starting netminder JACOB RILEY who was replaced by ALAIN VALIQUETTE after allowing 4 goals on 24 shots.
The Wolves came within two near the midway point of the third period when JOSHUA LEIVO (KRISTOFF KONTOS, FRANK CORRADO) netted on past Barrie netminder Clint Windsor on the powerplay. The teams traded goals the rest of the way as ALEX RACINO (MATHEW CAMPAGNA, JOSH MCFADDEN) scored his 10th goal of the season, while the Colts added two powerplay markers to win the game by a final of 6 – 3.
The Pack will look to rebound on home ice on Friday as they are set to host the Belleville Bulls for their final regular season home game at the Sudbury Arena. Game time is 7:30pm.
