Wolves Host Steelheads & Petes
On Friday the Wolves will kick-off a double-header weekend when the newly named Mississauga Steelheads make their first visit of the season to the Nickel City at 7:35 P.M. The Wolves will be looking to pull even in the best of six series as they dropped a 3-2 contest in Mississauga back on October 28th. The Steelheads enter the game sitting 4th in the Eastern Conference boasting an impressive 17-9-0-2 record. RILEY BRACE has paced the Steelheads offense attack to date this season as he has put up 34 points in 27 games. STUART PERCY (Toronto, 1st Round)has been rock solid on the blueline for Mississauga playing against the opposing teams’ top players every game. PERCY has done his part offensively as well, as he has chipped in for 17 points to date this season.
Friday is KIDS HELP END THE LOCKOUT NIGHT! Youngsters 12 and under are invited to help get the players and owners away from the bargaining tables and back on the ice by wearing their favourite NHL jersey to the game! Kids 12 and under wearing their favourite NHL jersey to the game will be admitted for only $7!
The Wolves will wrap up their two game home stand on Saturday night when they play host to the Peterborough Petes. The Wolves will be looking to extend their season series lead to 2-0 as they defeated the Petes on the road back on October 4th. Peterborough’s offensive attack is led by a pair of high OHL draft picks in NICK RITCHIE and ALAN QUINE. The Petes’ blueline is led by rearguard SLATER KOEKKOEK who was drafted 10th overall by the Tampa Bay Lightning in the 2012 NHL Draft. KOEKKOEK has been off to a great start this season as he has posted 22 points in 29 games.
Saturday’s game will be sponsored by TRAVELODGE. Fans are reminded that it is HAVE A HEART GIVE A HAT night! Fans are asked to bring a new toque, pair of mittens, gloves or scarf and donate the winter accessories to BETTER BEGINNINGS BETTER FUTURES. The Wolves will wrap up a busy weekend with the Annual Skate with the Wolves on Sunday December 9th from 12 Noon – 1:00pm. The skate is free for all Season Ticket Holders, Billets and Cub Club Members. The General Public is invited to attend for only a $2.00 donation, which will be donated to the Sudbury Wolves Community Club.
