Wolves Home Opener Weekend
The Sudbury Wolves closed out their pre-season schedule on the weekend finishing with a 2-2 record. The slate will be wiped clean on Friday as the Wolves open up their 2012-13 regular season at home when they face the Oshawa Generals at 7:35 p.m.
The Wolves will be facing a star studded offensive attack when they host the Gens as they boast three highly touted NHL Draft picks up front including: SCOTT LAUGHTON (2012 1st Round, Philadelphia Flyers), BOONE JENNER (2011 2nd Round, Columbus Bluejackets) , and LUCAS LESSIO ( 2011 2nd Round, Phoenix Coyotes). JENNER and LESSIO also competed for Team Canada in August and were successful in helping Canada win the first ever Canada Russia Challenge in overtime. The Generals lineup will also feature 2012 first round selection 6’2” center MICHAEL DAL COLLE.
Prior the game the Wolves will be sharing their golden moment in Russia this summer with all of their great fans in attendance. On Friday evening the Wolves will be sending their championship banner to the rafters to immortalize their triumph of the World Junior Club Cup when they defeated the Waterloo Blackhawks 2-0 to capture the title for Team Canada. Fans attending the game will also have the opportunity to have their picture taken with the trophy at the game.
Friday’s game will be sponsored by ATLAS COPCO, who will be handing out bandanas to the first 1000 fans entering the game.
The Wolves return to the ice on Sunday as they look to avenge their first round defeat when they host the Brampton Battalion for a 2:05 p.m afternoon contest. Don’t miss out on the action and the fun as the Wolves host their first ever KIDS DAY + JERSEY DAY + STUDENT DAY! Fans will have the opportunity to receive tickets to thegame for $5 if they qualify for one of the three promotions listed below.
– KIDS DAY: $5 admission for youngsters 12 and under when accompanied by an adult.
– HOCKEY JERSEY DAY: $5 admission for all youngsters 12 and under who attend the game wearing a minor hockey jersey.
– STUDENT DAY: All students presenting their students card will receive admission to the game for only $5. (College, University & High School Only)
